Team Pittsburgh is the premier girls hockey program in the Mid-American district. We enter our seventh year as the girls affiliate of the Pittsburgh Aviators Hockey organization. Team Pittsburgh expects each of its teams to compete for a National Championship. As a player and competitor, your goal is to put yourself in the best possible situation and to play at the best level of competition. Team Pittsburgh provides the best training and best competition at each level in the Mid-American District and we are proud of our accomplishments and continued success.
Although we have competitors, none can match our level of success over the last 7 years. We are the only program to win a national championship. Team Pittsburgh is the program that defines nationally competitive excellence in our district.
Players receive everything necessary to succeed. If you are looking for the best, come join us!

Team Pittsburgh is stable. Team Pittsburgh has been, since inception, the girls portion of the Pittsburgh Aviators. We have a six year history of stability.
Team Pittsburgh enjoys the ability to purchase virtually unlimited ice at Airport Ice Arena. The arena is centrally located on the Parkway West. We welcome everyone to contact the rink to confirm the availability of ice to our players and teams. All of our teams will have a mid-week practice from August 1 to March 31 at Airport Ice Arena. We encourage everyone to confirm the ice time that is mentioned to you at tryouts whereever you are considering playing( and get it in writing).
Team Pittsburgh was the first team from the State of Pennsylvania, boys or girls, to ever win a USA Hockey National Championship (and the second from the state to be authorized by USA Hockey to consider themselves national champions - The Valley Forge(Pa.) U12 boys having won the USHL title in 1999) . This result was accomplished through tremendous coaching and dedicated, hard working players.
Team Pittsburgh has simply unparalled facilities for training both on and off ice in Pittsburgh. We have regularly scheduled on ice clinics at Airport Ice Arena devoted to powerskating and individual skill development. Team Pittsburgh was a collaborative partner with Airport Ice Arena and the Pittsburgh Aviators in the creation of the Pittsburgh Hockey Academy for on ice development and an in-arena training facility at Airport Ice Arena. The rink has dedicated an 11,000 foot space in the second floor area previously housing the old skate park for the development of a one of a kind training facility in Pittsburgh. The first phase of this project was the recent unveiling of a turf speed training track measuring 160 ft x 16 ft. Our players enjoy access to off-ice hockey specific training unparalled in Pittsburgh.
Team Pittsburgh will this summer run a four day training camp for all players. The program will be directed by Greg Carter whose girls teams have won six national championships. This camp will be exclusively available to all Team Pittsburgh players.
We strongly believe that an educated consumer is a Team Pittsburgh consumer. At Team Pittsburgh, each team handles its own finances and checkbook. We do not use one team's fees to sudsidize any other team. We also charge everyone on your daughter's team the same fee and because everyone pays the same fee, every Team Pittsburgh family has access to see how their team's fees are spent. We are the only Pittsburgh girls hockey program to handle their finances in this way.
We encourage everyone to ask questions. The more communication the better and that is what we strive for. We want to expand this program and forge ahead while creating new trends. In the end it all comes down to the well being and development of the girls not only as hockey players but as individuals.
Any questions regarding a specific team should be directed to that team's coach. Any questions regarding the program in general should be directed to Bob Mackey at 412-370-9110 or bobmackey1@att.blackberry.net.
